Situated in a remote area of the Witteberge (white mountains) of the scenic Eastern Free State Highlands of South Africa is a hidden magical place which is a spectacular 1500ha nature reserve.
The sandstone mountains offer breathtaking views to the nearby Maluti mountains in the mountain kingdom of Lesotho.
There are deep valleys with towering sandstone cliffs, some hidden caves with bushman paintings, seasonal wildflowers as well as seasonal and perennial streams and waterfalls that make hiking on one of four trails a wonderful, invigorating pastime.There are also ruins of early Sotho huts on the reserve.
As our fences are registered with the Department of Nature Conservation we are in a position to offer hunting throughout the year and hunters do not have to purchase hunting licenses. We offer both firearm and bow hunting and meat, as well as trophy hunters are welcome.

Pricing:
Accommodation: Oak Tree Lodge consists of two cosy sandstone rondavels (chalets) each consists of a double bed, kitchenette, gas stove and fridge. Additional mattresses are available on request. The bathroom consists of a shower, basin and toilet. Also enjoy the outside braai area or have a braai next to one of the dams.

| From Gauteng take the N3 towards Durban, take exit 169 for R26/R103 (Villiers). Turn right onto R103 and continue onto R26. Proceed past Villiers, Frankfort, Tweeling, Reitz, Bethlehem and Fouriesburg on the road towards Ficksburg. |
Between Fouriesburg and Ficksburg turn right onto the S385 gravel road and continue for 8.3km. Turn right at the crossroad and continue past Franshoek Mountain Lodge, through a stream and past a polo field. After the polo field keep left and continue through a farm gate and onto a small farm road to the Thaba Thabo main gate. Please ensure that you close all gates behind you.
The last 10 km are on tertiary dirt road and depending on the weather can be rough or muddy.
